[Masayoshi Son Reclaims Title as Asia's Richest Person]
BlockBeats reports that on June 2, Forbes' real-time billionaire rankings showed that SoftBank Group founder and CEO Masayoshi Son's net worth surged to $100.7 billion, surpassing Indian billionaires Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, reclaiming the title of Asia's richest person after more than a decade.
SoftBank's stock price soared by 14.71% yesterday, bringing its market capitalization to 48 trillion yen (approximately $306 billion), surpassing Toyota's roughly 46 trillion yen, officially ending Toyota's more than 20-year reign as the most valuable publicly listed company in Japan.
As of today's close on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, SoftBank's market capitalization further climbed to 49.30 trillion yen, while Toyota's stood at 44.92 trillion yen.
