[Intel Plans to Launch New AI Chip by Year-End, Utilizing Cheaper Memory and Air-Cooling Technology]
According to a report by Cailian Press, Intel plans to launch an artificial intelligence chip by the end of this year, which will use memory and cooling technology that are cheaper than those in similar products from NVIDIA and AMD. Kevork Kechichian, who leads Intel's data center division, stated that the company is 'starting from the basics.' The new 'Crescent Island' graphics processor is designed to accelerate 'inference' tasks (the stage where users make requests), rather than model training—a domain where NVIDIA processors dominate.
