[FBI: Over 13,400 Cryptocurrency ATM Scam Complaints in 2025, Losses Exceed $388 Million] The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) under the U.S. FBI released data showing that in 2025, IC3 received over 13,400 complaints related to the use of cryptocurrency ATMs, with losses exceeding $388 million. Compared to 2024, the number of complaints increased by 23%, and the amount of losses rose by 58%. More than half of the complaints involved individuals aged 50 and above, with losses exceeding $302 million. Cryptocurrency ATMs are devices or electronic terminals similar to ATMs that allow users to exchange cash and cryptocurrency. Criminals may lure victims into transferring funds through cryptocurrency ATMs.
