The storage industry is about to change big time!
Today, Wuhan officially announced its major project plan for 2026—a $38 billion storage expansion plan is now confirmed.
This expansion will focus on Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) and Wuhan Xinxin Semiconductor Manufacturing (XMC) as dual cores, with key investments in the 3D NAND and DRAM sectors to comprehensively boost production capacity and technological strength.
Yangtze Memory's Phase 3 factory has entered the equipment debugging stage and is expected to start production by the end of 2026. Two additional new wafer fabs will be built afterward, and once fully operational, total production capacity will double—aiming for the global #3 spot in NAND flash memory!
