Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on April 27, according to Cointelegraph, France's National Prosecutor for Organized Crime, Vanessa Perrée, stated that French law enforcement has indicted at least 88 individuals, including 10 minors, in connection with 12 cases of "wrench attacks" targeting cryptocurrency holders. Among them, 75 individuals have been detained pending trial. These cases typically involve violent methods such as home invasions and kidnappings to coerce victims into surrendering their crypto wallet assets. Vanessa Perrée noted that some suspects are linked to multiple cases, and investigations have revealed the existence of a structured criminal network behind these incidents. Records from French authorities show that there were 18 such cases in 2024, increasing to 67 in 2025, and 47 cases so far in 2026.
