Nic Carter: Why Didn’t Satoshi Nakamoto Fix Bitcoin’s Early Quantum Vulnerability? On January 10, 2026, Castle Island Ventures partner Nic Carter (@nic_carter) discussed this issue on the Delphi Digital podcast. Satoshi Nakamoto had explicitly mentioned the quantum threat but left a vulnerability affecting 1 to 2 million early Bitcoins. Carter believes this was because, in 2010, Bitcoin had virtually no value, and the code was easy to modify. Satoshi likely thought that if it were ever cracked, it could simply be upgraded, not foreseeing today’s massive value and the difficulty of system upgrades. Source: Delphi Digital
