[US Media: Trump to Announce War is Coming to an End During Prime Time, Strait Responsibility Lies Entirely with NATO]
Golden Finance reports that on April 2, according to Politico, U.S. President Trump will deliver an important speech during prime time on Wednesday evening local time, during which he will announce that the month-long war with Iran is coming to an end. Over the past 24 hours, Trump has conveyed this message through interviews, social media posts, and public statements, laying the groundwork for the upcoming speech.
According to six sources, Trump is expected to declare in the speech that all military objectives have been achieved. He also plans to harshly blame NATO allies for the unresolved major issue in the war—the restricted shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
As Trump prepares to deliver his speech, an additional 2,500 U.S. Marines are heading to the Middle East. The speech may primarily aim to ease voter concerns and address Wall Street's unease over the chain reactions caused by disruptions in the energy market and the strait's closure.
With the conflict still ongoing, the speech provides Trump an opportunity to outline the war's objectives, the so-called "victory" criteria, and his plans for moving forward should ceasefire negotiations reach an impasse.
