[WLFI's 'Governance Staking Proposal' Open for Voting, Ends on March 13]
Foresight News reports, according to Bloomberg, the Trump family's cryptocurrency project, World Liberty Financial (WLFI), has opened voting for its 'Governance Staking Proposal' on March 6, with voting set to continue until March 13.
The proposal targets unlocked tokens—approximately 20% of the total holdings, which are currently freely tradable. Under this plan, unless holders agree to 'stake' these tokens, they will lose their voting rights. Staking requires voluntarily locking the tokens for at least 180 days in exchange for an annualized yield of 2%, paid in WLFI tokens, with the yield rate subject to adjustment at the team's discretion. Bloomberg notes that the proposal could potentially weaken early investors' voting power in critical governance decisions, including when they can access the majority of their investments.
