[German Foreign Minister: Europe Likely to Reach Compromise with the U.S. on Greenland] Odaily Planet Daily News – German Foreign Minister Johann Waldvogel expressed optimism that Europe could reach a 'compromise' with the United States on the issue of Greenland. After meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Rubio in Washington on Monday, Waldvogel stated that he hopes the U.S. will participate in a new NATO mission in the Arctic region to help ensure the security of Greenland. Waldvogel said: 'NATO is currently beginning to formulate specific plans, which will be discussed with our American partners. We have not yet completed this step today, but all parties are prepared to carry out this work within the NATO framework. Germany will also strive to contribute to this effort.' Waldvogel also discussed ongoing negotiations between the U.S., Europe, and Ukraine with Rubio. Germany has made it clear that it is willing to support a military mission as part of security guarantees.
