Portfolio Seperation 📚 One thing I can recommend everyone is to have clear seperated sections within your overall portfolio. I'm just listing what works for me, and makes me perform best in the long run. Here's how I set it up: 1. Long term focussed section. Consisting of holdings you ideally don't want to touch for years. Whether it's BTC, ETH, stocks, gold or all of the above. It gives a lot of rest by having these investments just sitting there without you worrying about their movements every single day. Ideally you make little to no adjustments here. Maybe you do some rebalancing every quarter or year, or you add to this after hitting a good win elsewhere. But ideally this is the most steady and largest part of your total investments. 2. Mid term swings (spot). Can be used for semi-active spot positioning. For example, reacting to big events in the market like the April Tariff dump. You get these kind of setups maybe once or twice a year, where the risk/reward is pretty good and you're fine adding on additional exposure. Ideally you do this with spot only to keep the peace of mind and so there's no need to micro manage the positions. 3. Active short term trade portfolio. Whether it's collateral for perps/futures trading (if you're into that) or some stables for more degen high risk high reward trades like on chain things. Many people do these things on a daily basis, but it's good to completely seperate it from the other parts of your investment portfolio. This way it protects you from bad streaks & drawdowns purely because of leverage or whatever. The fact you also don't have to worry on a daily basis about those longer term investments, gives you clarity and a clear mind to focus on your active trades if you are in them. The rest would only be a distraction. This is all very basic but personally helped me a lot. The moment I started mixing everything and trying to manage every part of my portfolio actively, is when performance degraded in every aspect. You won't catch every move, you don't need to. The majority of your portfolio is best off being in the market long term. That's also where most gains come from for the majority of investors. Use short term wins to add to long term exposure when you think the time is right. That's the way to win & survive in the long run.(Daan Crypto Trades)
