[Crypto Artist Beeple Launches Celebrity Robot Dogs Featuring Musk and Others, Priced at $100,000 Each and Sold Out]
BlockBeats News, December 5 – Recently, American digital visual artist Mike Winkelmann (Beeple) showcased his animal series artwork, flesh-colored robot dogs, at the Art Basel Miami Beach exhibition. These robot dogs wear silicone masks representing celebrities such as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, drawing significant attention from art enthusiasts and media alike. Reportedly, these robotic installations continuously take photos and record the images on the blockchain, with the artist aiming to reinterpret the world from the perspective of these celebrities.
According to reports, a total of seven celebrity-themed robot dogs were created, all of which have been purchased by private collectors at a price of $100,000 each. In an interview, Beeple stated that although the appearance of these robot dogs may seem peculiar and bizarre, his original intention was not to offend these celebrities.
Beeple has long been a prominent figure in the art world. In 2021, the globally renowned auction house Christie's held its first auction of a purely digital artwork presented in NFT form—Beeple's *Everydays: The First 5000 Days*. The piece ultimately sold for an astonishing $69.346 million (approximately 500 million RMB), setting a record for the highest auction price for an NFT artwork and shaking the entire art market.
