[Thai Authorities Seize $8.6 Million Worth of Bitcoin Mining Equipment from a Transnational Fraud Syndicate] According to Decrypt, Thai authorities have seized Bitcoin mining equipment worth $8.6 million (300 million baht) from seven locations suspected of funding a transnational fraud syndicate operating in Myanmar. On Tuesday, Thailand's Department of Special Investigation conducted raids at six locations in Samut Sakhon Province and one location in Uthai Thani Province, confiscating 3,642 mining machines valued at $7.7 million (270 million baht) and electrical equipment worth $860,000 (30 million baht). Thai investigators discovered that most of the mining equipment was installed in soundproof containers equipped with water-cooling systems. These locations are linked to a fraud syndicate based in Myanmar, whose financial transactions have totaled over $143 million (5 billion baht).
