A friend forwarded me, but I really don't want to talk about this topic. Anything I say is wrong, but if I don't say it, I will be seen as a vested interest. I cannot represent anyone, only myself.
First of all, I am not a KOL. No matter what you think, I do not consider myself to be, nor do I deserve to be. KOLs are key opinion leaders, and I do not have the qualifications to do so. I am just a code word, and the content of the code is data analysis and macro analysis that I am interested in. Occasionally, I also argue, and I do not have the ability to be a KOL.
Secondly, I do not deny that I have traffic, but my traffic is built on my output of more than six hours a day. Since the first day I tweeted today, I have not been absent for a day, whether it is me or my family, whether it is my holiday or my family's holiday. 365 days, I have been posting content on Twitter every day. Whether it is right or wrong, we will judge in future generations, but I am "accompanying with heart".
Since the first day, I have been saying and doing the same thing. Many of my friends around me know that I just drank too much, vomited, fainted for three or four hours, and the first thing I did when I got up was to write words.
So here, at least here, I am dedicated to accompanying my friends every day, typing out word by word my understanding of the market and the information I see. I don't have a team, just one person, from day one until now.
Then, it is wrong to consider advertising as the main source of income for high traffic influencers or KOLs, and the mistake is very significant. Even KOL rounds are not the main source of income. At least, many of the small partners I know of do not have advertising as their main source of income, and it can only be considered a small part. Advertising is a combination of their own ecology for a part of the time, another part is personal debt, and another part is indeed revenue.
Most KOLs are just making a lot of money by shouting, and starting from 2025, they will be able to make some profit. In 2023, they will be cut off by the project team, which is why many friends did not take Aster.
Continuing, it is almost impossible to believe that becoming a KOL or content creator can make a fortune through advertising. There is a line of thought in Rita's article that I believe is correct.
Many people become excellent not because they become KOLs, but because they are already excellent and willing to share, which makes them people with traffic. Therefore, wherever excellent people go, they are like gold. As long as they are willing to stand out, they will definitely shine. But not all shining people are gold, some may be glass.
But if one is not mediocre enough to produce content output, the answer is no.
In the game, my qualifications are very mediocre. Belonging to the type of passerby A, but everyone can grow. Those who are willing to work hard and work towards the right direction, and are also willing to be down-to-earth, have opportunities. Being too ambitious is the biggest killer of mediocrity. You are no longer outstanding and unwilling to invest more time. Just like leveling up in a game, a master may reach level 60 in a day, but a novice can still reach level 60 by playing goblins every day.
Then, many of my friends around me were asking me how traffic came about, and my answer, like everyone else, was the same: to persist and output content that I at least thought was correct.
I have been on Twitter for four years, and I am definitely not one of the earliest ones. During these four years, I have seen too many excellent friends leave, either because they are too free to share, or because they have been criticized for being autistic, or because they have changed from public sharing to private sharing. It takes a strong heart to output content on Twitter, especially when you care about your friends who read your articles.
Some people are not afraid of being scolded simply because they don't even read the comments after posting, which naturally doesn't matter. However, many content creators are very concerned about the interaction with their peers, believing that this is an opportunity for learning and growth.
However, with the increasing use of AI on Twitter, many users, including myself, are struggling to cope. Most of them have given up responding to all comments in the comment section. Too much AI is just for the sake of strong traffic, and then just "lip service", which can only be a flash in the pan.
Finally, I think there are still two groups of people on Twitter, one is traffic first and the other is content first. As a public platform, both are right, and both require time to accumulate.
I don't know about others, but I really don't care much about traffic, because for me, sharing is a very happy thing, and because of happiness, I don't feel tired doing it. Traffic is just an added bonus to my happiness. This happiness is like some friends playing games or watching movies, and I am just sharing.
