**[U.S. Weekly Initial Jobless Claims Decline, Labor Market Conditions Stable]**
Odaily Planet Daily News: The U.S. reported a decline in weekly initial jobless claims, indicating that unemployment remains very low. However, despite ongoing economic uncertainty, the labor market struggles to create sufficient job opportunities for the unemployed. Data released on Wednesday showed that, for the week ending November 22, seasonally adjusted initial jobless claims decreased by 6,000 to 216,000. Economists had previously estimated that initial jobless claims for last week would be 225,000. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, the report was released a day earlier.
Economists noted that President Trump's aggressive trade and immigration policies have created an environment where businesses are reluctant to lay off workers or hire more, resulting in what they and policymakers describe as a "no hire, no fire" labor market. However, some companies, including Amazon, are ramping up layoffs as they integrate artificial intelligence into certain roles. Economists predict that these layoffs may be reflected in next year's initial jobless claims data, though historically, the number of people filing for unemployment benefits does not always increase following layoff announcements.
