[Phantom CEO: No Plans for IPO or Launching a Proprietary Blockchain, No Products for Institutional Users in Development for Now] On the Empire podcast, Phantom Wallet CEO Brandon Millman and VP of Strategy Donnie Dinch discussed the team's future strategic direction. Brandon made it clear that Phantom has no intention of launching its own blockchain, as this would go against the principles of openness and permissionless innovation in the crypto industry. He emphasized that Phantom will continue to focus on existing ecosystems, such as Solana, and will work on deeply optimizing the user experience, prioritizing services for regular consumers, with no plans to develop products targeting institutional users for the time being. Additionally, the team is working on expanding its product line, including the launch of stablecoin-based financial services called Phantom Cash and the upcoming professional trading terminal, Phantom Terminal. Regarding an IPO, Brandon believes that Phantom has the potential to become one of the few consumer-facing on-chain companies capable of going public, but there are no concrete plans at the moment. He noted that while an IPO could bring funding and brand recognition, it also comes with significant operational burdens. Phantom prefers to secure sufficient private funding through its existing investors (such as A16Z, Paradigm, and Sequoia) to support the company's growth.
