[US Media: House Democrats Angry Over Senate Agreement]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on Monday afternoon local time, a private conference call held by U.S. House Democrats turned into an intense emotional outburst. Lawmakers expressed anger over an agreement reached by a group of Senate moderates and Republicans to end the government shutdown. More than a dozen House Democrats spoke during the call, with the vast majority criticizing the agreement. The scale of opposition reflects deep divisions between the two chambers. One congressman who participated in the call stated, "Almost everyone strongly opposes" the agreement. About half of the speakers directly criticized Senate Minority Leader Schumer, or indirectly expressed dissatisfaction with Schumer by agreeing with previous criticisms of him. (Jin10)
