As part of the Government of Jamaica’s ongoing #HurricaneMelissaRecovery efforts, the National Housing Trust (NHT) will grant an automatic six-month moratorium on mortgage payments for mortgagors in the worst-affected parishes: St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland, Hanover, Trelawny, St. James, Manchester, and St. Ann. This measure will assist more than 20,000 homeowners. For all other parishes, the NHT will continue to review individual moratorium applications for those who have lost income or are facing special hardship.(Andrew Holness)
