Odaily Planet Daily News: Federal Reserve Chairman Powell stated at a meeting in Sintra, Portugal that if it weren't for US President Trump's tariff policy, the Fed would have started cutting interest rates in 2025 and would have adopted a more loose monetary policy at present. When asked if the uncertainty caused by the current tariff system of the US government has led to the Fed delaying interest rate cuts, Powell gave a positive answer, adding that almost all forecasts for US inflation rates are significantly rising due to the impact of tariffs. Powell acknowledged that despite increasing pressure from the US government, the Federal Reserve has entered a mode of maintaining interest rates. Powell also stated that given the current instability of the economic outlook, the Federal Reserve is still observing the situation to learn more information. (Golden Ten)
