According to the US Department of Justice, a Nigerian man named Charles Uchenna Nwadavi recently pleaded guilty in Boston Federal Court to his involvement in a "pig killing pan" fraud and money laundering case. Envadawi lured six victims into remitting over $2.5 million through false romantic relationships and transferred the funds to a cryptocurrency account under his control. The case is expected to be sentenced on September 23, 2025, and Envadawi faces up to 20 years in prison and a huge fine. After completing his sentence, he will be deported.
