A Singaporean Jinko company's Hong Kong branch was robbed of over 3.2 million USDT by employees, and the suspects were sentenced to 78 months in prison
According to Hong Kong media Hong Kong 01, a Singaporean fintech company's Hong Kong branch was robbed of over 3.2 million USDTs by employees, with a market value of approximately HKD 26 million.
It is reported that the suspects have stolen USDT from the company's virtual currency account 64 times and transferred the funds to electronic wallets on different trading platforms. Currently, they have recovered approximately 8.6 million yuan worth of virtual currency and 4.65 million yuan worth of cash and assets.
The person involved in the case was charged with one count of theft and three counts of dealing with property that is known or believed to represent proceeds from an prosecuted crime. Yesterday, he pleaded guilty and was convicted in the Hong Kong High Court, and was sentenced to a total of 78 months in prison.
