[Market Digests Midterm Election Results, US Treasury Yields Fall to Eight-Week Low] According to a report by Jinse Finance on November 5th, citing the Wall Street Journal, long-term US Treasury yields fell to an eight-week low on Thursday as investors anticipated a tightening of fiscal constraints following a sweeping Democratic victory in the US midterm elections, which would benefit the bond market. According to Tradeweb data, yields across all maturities of US Treasury bonds generally declined. The 10-year and 30-year Treasury yields touched eight-week lows of 4.837% and 5.229% respectively during the session, before rebounding slightly, but remained in a downward trend for the day. The two-year Treasury yield, after falling to a two-month low on Wednesday, is currently trading slightly above that low. Shari Hensrud, Chief Investment Officer at Mission Square, stated that a divided Congress may benefit the bond market, but it does not solve the fiscal deficit problem. Reduced fiscal risk may support long-term US Treasuries and exert some downward pressure on long-term yields; while short-term Treasury yields remain more influenced by Federal Reserve policy, inflation, and labor market conditions.
