[The Wall Street Journal Wins, Trump's $10 Billion Defamation Lawsuit Dismissed] Golden Finance reports that on November 1st, a U.S. federal judge dismissed Donald Trump's re-filed $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, ruling that the case cannot be sued again. This marks another setback for Trump in his legal battles with the media. Miami Judge Darrin Gayles granted The Wall Street Journal's request to withdraw the lawsuit on Saturday. The lawsuit alleged that the newspaper defamed Trump in a report about his relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein. Gayles had initially dismissed the case in April due to insufficient evidence, but at that time allowed Trump to re-file after supplementing his claims. Trump filed a new version of the lawsuit in May, which The Wall Street Journal argued did not effectively improve. This ruling is a major victory for The Wall Street Journal, its parent company News Corp., and its honorary chairman Rupert Murdoch (all defendants in the case). In its application to withdraw the lawsuit, the defendants stated that the reports were true and that Trump filed the lawsuit to suppress media criticism of him. The Wall Street Journal, which sparked the lawsuit, reported that Trump had sent Epstein a suggestive birthday letter.
