Anyone who's traded large contracts knows that sometimes, even if you correctly predict the market direction, the actual profit isn't as high as expected.
The problem might not be with market conditions, but with liquidity.
For small-scale trading, the order book is generally sufficient. However, if you're buying millions of dollars worth of BTC at once, insufficient market depth forces you to take orders one level at a time, increasing slippage as the order size grows.
@nadoHQ aims to solve this problem. It doesn't replace the traditional order book, but rather provides traders with another liquidity entry point.
Simply put: A regular order book directly matches orders with the market; PRIME, on the other hand, connects to multiple institutional dealers, allowing them to continuously quote prices, which the system then aggregates to create a real-time, executable price.
The key point is that it's not just one market maker providing a quote, but multiple institutional LPs competing for your orders simultaneously.
How are these orders allocated?
Small orders typically go through the order book for more favorable prices. Larger orders are handled by the Smart Order Router (SOR), which finds dealers offering better quotes. If a single dealer can't handle the volume, the order can be split among multiple dealers, with the final transaction completed through on-chain atomic settlement. Furthermore, PRIME and Nado CLOB do not operate on separate accounts; they share the same account, and positions are interconnected. For example, a position opened on PRIME can be closed later through the order book.
Another noteworthy point is that PRIME plans to use 0% transaction fees.
Personally, I think what's interesting about PRIME isn't just creating another perpetual contract trading portal, but rather attempting to bring the mature Multi-Dealer liquidity model of the traditional forex market onto the blockchain.
Its approach differs from Variational's. While Variational is closer to a single OLP quote, PRIME involves multiple institutional LPs simultaneously quoting and competing.
Currently, PRIME is planned to launch in Q4, running in parallel with Nado's existing order book, initially focusing on crypto assets and highly liquid perpetual contracts.
As for stocks, commodities, and options, these are long-term plans and not yet the initial market launch.
Ultimately, small-order trading relies on price, while large-order trading often relies on liquidity depth.
If on-chain transactions are to truly absorb more and more institutional funds, this aspect will have to be addressed sooner or later.
