[Institution: Fed Rate Hike in December Still Possible]
BlockBeats reports that on October 29th, Larry Holzenthaler, senior portfolio manager at Catalyst Fund, stated that after the Fed kept interest rates unchanged as expected, the market still widely believes that another rate hike will occur in December. Two dissenting votes have forced people to believe that a December rate hike is a foregone conclusion. Warsh's remarks also seem to indicate that the Fed's primary focus is price stability, not the job market. Hearing Warsh's comments should not lead one to assume that the Fed has ended its rate hike cycle. According to LSEG data, the money market is pricing in an 83% probability of a 25 basis point rate hike at the December policy meeting. (Jinshi)
