As Jamaica continues its recovery, we must be careful about how we spend public funds and ensure that more resources go towards rebuilding our communities and supporting our people. I have announced an immediate pause on the purchase of motor vehicles for public officials until March 31, 2027. Ministries and public bodies are also being asked to limit Christmas celebrations and avoid holding retreats outside their office facilities. Every ministry and public body must review its spending and find ways to reduce costs so that more resources can support Jamaica’s recovery.
