Duan Yongping, after listening to Buffett's speeches dozens of times, summarized nine life-changing pieces of advice: First, character always comes first. Be upright and maintain a righteous mind and thoughts; this is the foundation of everything. Second, try to do what you love and enjoy. Many successful people have emphasized this principle. Lei Jun said, "Passion is the reason and the answer." I once watched Chen Bojiang interview top students from Oxford or Cambridge, and one sentence stuck with me: "Try to do what you are good at and passionate about." Don't compare your job to what others are passionate about. You work eight hours and then leave, while some people, except for sleeping, are immersed in what they love. That level of dedication is incomparable to a regular office job. Third, stay within your circle of competence. Only do what you are capable of; don't overstep your boundaries. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Reflect on your experiences, find your strengths, and continuously cultivate them to become stronger. Fourth, to understand a company, look at its competitive advantage. A moat is a barrier to entry, a unique core competency, and the key to a company's long-term success. Fifth, to judge whether to invest in a company, consider these three points: profit model, management team and corporate culture, and a suitable price. This is what Buffett refers to as good products, good management, and a good price. Sixth, learn from mistakes and failures. Don't repeat the same mistakes you've made. Seventh, never touch anything with even a low probability of losing all your capital. Eighth, practice what you preach. If you believe something is right, do it immediately; if you know you're wrong, correct it immediately. Don't just understand the principles and talk about them fluently without putting them into practice. The difference between people lies in information gaps, cognitive gaps, and ultimately, execution gaps. Ninth, do not do to others what you would not have them do to you. This is a simple yet profound philosophy of life. Treat those around you and the world with fairness and equality. These principles seem simple, without any fancy techniques. The difficulty lies in remembering it for a long time and using it to remind yourself when making choices.
