October this year didn't become Uptober.
It's not much better than last October.
First, geopolitical risks persist without improvement, with Brent crude oil prices briefly reaching around $115.
Second, there are concerns about AI capital expenditure and debt in the market.
Investors/companies heavily reliant on leverage/debt or margin are slowing down spending as they advance AI infrastructure.
AI infrastructure is gradually shifting from being primarily supported by retained profits/cash from hyperscalers (Microsoft/Amazon/Google/Meta, etc.) to substantial debt issuance and leveraged financing.
Third, there are cybersecurity incidents.
The core issue is a serious PHP vulnerability (PHP2Shell, CVE-related, around CVSS 9.2).
PHP supports numerous websites, such as WordPress and Drupal.
The vulnerability has existed for years and was discovered by AI models (such as those related to GPT-5.6/Gemini).
