Thai SEC: Multiple asset management agencies consult on cryptocurrency ETFs, but no company has submitted an application yet
Odaily Planet Daily News: The Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has stated that multiple asset management companies have consulted on launching spot cryptocurrency ETFs, but currently no asset management company has submitted an approval application to establish a cryptocurrency ETF. The SEC has not disclosed the names of the relevant companies. The SEC pointed out that it is currently uncertain whether the first batch of products can be approved before the end of 2026, depending on the applicant's preparation, regulatory review, and investor protection requirements. The new cryptocurrency ETF rules in Thailand came into effect on Friday, allowing asset management institutions to establish locally listed spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.
