[IBM Revenue Exceeds Expectations, Delayed Orders Accelerate Recovery, Software Business Grows 8.3%] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on October 22, IBM (IBM.N) announced third-quarter revenue that surpassed analysts' expectations. The company stated that most of the infrastructure business orders delayed earlier this year have now resumed signing. The financial report shows that for the quarter ending September 30, the company's revenue increased by approximately 5% year-over-year, reaching $17.1 billion. Revenue from the infrastructure business, including mainframe servers, grew by 4% to $3.7 billion, both figures exceeding analysts' average expectations. IBM Chief Financial Officer Kavanaugh stated that about two-thirds of the delayed mainframe and related software transactions from earlier this year have now been signed. In July, IBM had mentioned that the company's mainframe and software business had been impacted as customers temporarily shifted spending toward chips and servers amid a chip and server supply shortage driven by the artificial intelligence boom. IBM's closely watched software business saw third-quarter revenue grow by 8.3% to $7.8 billion, surpassing Wall Street's expectation of $7.64 billion. For the full year, IBM now expects free cash flow to increase by more than $1 billion, higher than the previously estimated approximately $1 billion.
