[CFTC Seeks Public Comment on Retail Digital Asset Trading Framework, Proposes New 'Crypto Asset Market' Exchange Category]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Bitcoin News posted on the X platform, stating that as the 'Clarity Act' remains stalled, regulators are independently formulating rules for the digital asset market under existing authority. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has sought public comment on a retail digital asset trading framework, which includes the proposal of a new 'Crypto Asset Market' exchange category. The comment period will close on December 14. Meanwhile, the public comment window for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) proposed 'Regulation Crypto Assets' will close on October 20. Regulators are moving faster than Congress in establishing rules, but these rules may face legal challenges in court or be overturned by future commissions. A lasting regulatory framework still requires legislative action.
