[Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, and 7 Other Companies Oppose Tokenized Trading of Their Stocks on the OKX-ICE Platform]
DeepTech TechFlow reports that on October 20, according to CoinDesk, Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, and 7 other companies have opposed the tokenized versions of their stocks being traded on the OKXICE platform, which is planned to be launched by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). This brings the publicly disclosed number of opposing issuers to 16. The newly added opponents also include Qualcomm, Caterpillar, McDonald’s, and Western Digital.
The initial announcement from OKXICE covered 63 stock tickers corresponding to 62 companies, of which 15 companies have now raised objections. Additionally, Cerebras Systems, which was not included in the original list of companies slated for listing, has also expressed opposition. Previously, Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth, CoreWeave, AppLovin, Applied Digital, Rocket Lab, and Applied Optoelectronics had already voiced their objections.
OKXICE plans to operate under the SEC's 5-year "Innovation Exemption" framework, which allows eligible platforms to trade tokenized U.S. stocks through automated market makers and liquidity pools while preserving the right for issuers to raise objections.
