The suspects include eight Ukrainian nationals (three of whom are women) and one Belarusian woman. The case is being investigated under the supervision of the Łódź Regional Prosecutor's Office. Investigations revealed that the gang operated in Warsaw, Lublin, Wrocław, Katowice, and Gdańsk, laundering money for fraudulent investment platforms and cryptocurrency investment scams. The gang had a clear division of labor, with a 34-year-old Ukrainian national serving as the leader, responsible for directing operations and determining the flow of cash and funds domestically and internationally. The gang used currency exchange points and fictitious gold purchase transactions to transfer funds, with the total amount of transactions exceeding 337 million zloty. Police searched residences, offices, and currency exchange points, seizing over 1 million zloty worth of gold and cash, as well as computers, mobile phones, and other electronic devices. The court has ordered the temporary detention of six individuals for three months and one individual for two months. Two others have been subjected to property guarantees, travel bans, and police supervision. The suspects could face up to 15 years in prison.
