[Former Mt.Gox CEO: Ledger's Security Statement Contradicts Its Technical Documentation]
Foresight News reports that former Mt.Gox CEO Mark Karpelès tweeted questioning Ledger Support's claim that 'the secure element chip can detect physical tampering and intercept additional hardware signals.' He pointed out that Ledger's official documentation explicitly states that authenticity checks cannot detect unauthorized physical modifications (such as implants) when the secure element chip is intact.
Additionally, Ledger had previously published photos of such implants in a March 2026 Academy article. 'This is not an unforeseen hypothetical attack. They have already documented this threat. Their statement directly contradicts their technical documentation and is potentially misleading to consumers.'
