[AI Computing Power Giant CoreWeave's Bond Plunge Draws Attention from Musk, Who Reacts with 'Yikes']
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on October 15, the 2032 unsecured bonds of AI cloud computing service provider CoreWeave plummeted to below 80% of face value, with yields exceeding 15%, reaching levels typically considered as debt distress. Its credit default swap (CDS) prices also surged to historic highs, reflecting a market-implied default probability of over 50% within the next five years. In response, Musk commented on the X platform with a surprised reaction, 'Yikes' (meaning terrible, the situation looks bad). Earlier reports indicated that CoreWeave planned to raise $3 billion through private placement and was exploring the introduction of large-scale funding from the insurance industry.
