I think "Marketing Engineer" is about to become a really important role in 2027. The job will basically be: 1. Drive AI agents towards a high-level marketing goal. 2. Build any systems, tools, context, loops, guardrails necessary to help them get there. 3. Feed the agent with incredible taste and ideas. 4. Review and refine their work it to make it great. 5. Build loops for agents to improve over time. Taste is obviously really important – Humans will own that at the beginning (3) and end (4) of the loops. But a 10x marketing engineer will get a lot more out of the agents because they'll be able to configure and drive higher-level goals much better.
