[France Proposes Up to 31.4% Tax on Bitcoin-to-Stablecoin Conversions, Residents Exiting with Over €800,000 in Crypto Assets May Face Unrealized Gains Tax]
Odaily Planet Daily News: Bitcoin News posted on the X platform that the French National Assembly's Finance Committee has approved a proposal to impose up to a 31.4% tax on Bitcoin-to-stablecoin conversions, applicable even if not converted into fiat currency. Residents relocating overseas with more than €800,000 in crypto assets may face an exit tax on unrealized crypto asset gains. The related amendment was withdrawn after the committee rejected the budget revenue section but will need to be reintroduced during the full National Assembly debate. The proposal has not yet become law, and if passed, the new regulations would take effect on January 1, 2027.
