After reading this tweet from Paris Saint Germain, I was quite touched, feeling that I am the completely opposite person.
If I only had 10 million yuan, I wouldn't buy a house for 5 million yuan and a car for 2 million yuan. But when I only had 200000 yuan, I did buy a house for 2 million yuan and a car for 300000 yuan. It may seem contradictory, but it can also be considered a form of self evolution.
When I was not exposed to cryptocurrency, I was already a worker in the gaming industry with a monthly salary of over 20000 yuan. It seemed that this salary was acceptable in that era, but it was basically impossible to buy a house based on my salary. Therefore, I still sought sponsorship from my parents to buy a house.
When I bought my first house in Shanghai, I actually had negative assets. Although I had 200000 yuan in cash in my account, I still had a car loan in the bank. I bought the car first and then bought the house, with a difference of less than a month. Then I borrowed 1 million yuan from both parents for the down payment, and the remaining 1 million yuan happened to be from the public provident fund, so I didn't use a commercial loan.
If I didn't have cryptocurrency in my life, I might have gone on like this. The pressure on this house and car wasn't too great. At that time, I was still young, and paying off my mortgage and car loan wasn't a problem. Even if I got old and lost my job, I could still maintain a relatively decent life.
But later on, as I did make a little money, I became very resistant to consumption. I only bought my second house two years before coming to Singapore, and I have been living in the new house for less than a year. Even so, I sold my old house before replacing it. I paid a total of less than 2 million RMB in cash. Thank you for selling my first house at a very good price.
If not, even if I don't plan to come to Singapore, I may not want to change houses. I am a person who likes to settle accounts, and it may be because my previous life was not wealthy that I am a bit "stingy" now. I will always calculate again. If I can't make money, what will happen to my future life?
This is a question I ask myself almost every once in a while, so in my opinion, the prerequisite for satisfying my character's desires is to have no worries. Of course, there is no 100% guarantee of having no worries, and it's all up to fate.
So my asset allocation has also been discussed before:
First of all, Bitcoin: native is the first step. My biggest hope in this life is to not sell Bitcoin cleanly but to save as much as possible. All Bitcoin is a legacy.
Secondly, there is large life insurance, which is also a realization that I have gained after coming into contact with Kan Ge. I spent relatively little money to buy a larger insurance policy. If I am really gone, at least my family life can be maintained from declining. Of course, if the money is 10 million, at least 20% of the down payment needs to be used.
Then it's about transforming a portion of my cryptocurrency, including BTC and Ethereum: native, from a cryptocurrency form to a spot ETF and storing it in a private bank. I also have to thank Kange for pointing it out to me. Previously, I stored it in a hardware wallet, but considering recent events, having a private bank is more reliable.
Other cryptocurrencies are basically stored on various exchanges, and if there is an opportunity, they can be processed and sold.
There is still some cash, but it is not pure cash. Most of it is in the form of USDC. As of yesterday, the bank requires me to provide a proof of cash assets today, so I have to convert USDC into USD. This money will be used to buy a three-month term with a 4% return. Mainly because banks have no choice.
In the future, this money may be used to buy short-term US bonds. I have been calculating this cash, and if I cannot make money, at least I can still maintain my current life in Singapore until Chipmunk goes to college. Of course, I still need to prepare more money just in case.
So to get back to the point, even though I have some cash, I am currently living a life similar to when I was working. The most expensive expenses are studying and maintaining my stay in Singapore for chipmunks, while everything else is relatively good. Perhaps someone like me just doesn't enjoy life very much, and even if I have spare energy, I am not very interested in buying luxury homes or cars.
Planning your daily life to make it more meaningful and interesting is more important. Developing new foods every week, having family dinners with friends, exercising when the weather is good, finding something to do every day, and having a mid-term career dream is great.
I have also thought about being carefree and trying, but maybe I am born with a strong sense of luck. I still think that coding, incubating projects, and meeting more friends would be more satisfying for me.
If I only have 10 million yuan now, I would probably only spend 3 million yuan to meet my housing and car needs, and the remaining 7 million yuan, I still think about how to make more money.
