[Jeonbuk Bank Reportedly Issues Bitcoin-Collateralized Korean Won Loans, Claimed by Korean Media as the First Case Among Commercial Banks in South Korea]
Odaily Planet Daily News: Bitcoin News posted on the X platform stating that Jeonbuk Bank has reportedly begun issuing Korean won loans to businesses using Bitcoin as collateral, which local Korean media claim to be the first case among South Korean commercial banks. The Bitcoin is held by a third-party custodian; changes to enforcement rules effective October 1 allow the bank to recover debts by court ruling to sell the collateral without actually receiving the Bitcoin. Details such as loan size, interest rates, and loan-to-value ratio have not yet been disclosed. A representative from Jeonbuk Bank told Chosun that one loan has already been issued.
