[Analyst: This Is More Concerning Than Semiconductor Fundamentals] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on October 13, South Korea's benchmark index briefly fell below 6,000 points due to the sharp decline in the stock prices of Samsung and SK Hynix. Analysts have warned that the ongoing outflow of foreign capital poses a greater risk. Eugene Investment & Securities analyst Heo Jae-hwan stated that the scale of the outflow is too large to be attributed solely to portfolio rebalancing after market gains. Domestic investors in South Korea need to absorb this selling pressure. However, this may prove difficult, as retail investors remain cautious following the July downturn, and institutions like the National Pension Service have limited capacity to increase their holdings. Yuanta Securities analyst Lee Jae-won noted that foreign capital flows are now more concerning than semiconductor earnings. He said, "Samsung Electronics' third-quarter operating profit exceeded market expectations, and memory prices as well as AI infrastructure investments remain robust. However, the continued foreign sell-off is dragging down the performance of South Korea's KOSPI index relative to other markets."
