[Ethereum L2 Scroll Plans to Transition from General-Purpose Blockchain to AI Application-Specific Network, Estimated Transition Period of About 9 Months]
BlockBeats News, September 9: The Ethereum L2 Scroll team released the latest update on its governance forum, announcing plans to gradually transition Scroll from a general-purpose blockchain to a private, application-specific network centered around Compass and its AI product ecosystem. The overall transition process is expected to take approximately 9 months.
Scroll stated that over the past few months, the team has applied AI to network operations and product development and is currently building a product ecosystem comprising Compass, Compass API, CENO, USX, and SCR. Among them, Compass provides AI models as well as VPN and eSIM functionalities, Compass API offers routing services for over 30 LLM models, and CENO leverages ZK technology to provide a trust layer for AI agents, including credentials, context, and privacy computing.
The team mentioned that CENO currently has over 30 potential clients, with 12 undergoing proof-of-concept (POC) testing, while Compass remains in the early stages of consumer validation. As part of the network transition plan, SCR will migrate to the Ethereum mainnet to maintain broad accessibility and liquidity. Scroll emphasized that the supply and overall tokenomics of SCR will remain unchanged and that it will continue to serve as the governance token for the Scroll network.
Scroll clarified that this post is merely an update on progress and not a formal proposal or vote. The team will submit a detailed network transition plan for DAO review once the relevant details are finalized.
