According to a report by French financial media outlet BFM Business, Binance has ceased offering trading services in France and several other European countries starting July 1 due to its failure to obtain a MiCA license in time. Previously, Binance served approximately 2 million users in France and has sent emails to local users assuring them that their funds remain safe. The company has also recommended transferring crypto assets to platforms with MiCA licenses or self-custody cold wallets. Currently, French users can only withdraw assets, as spot and leveraged trading are no longer available.
The report cites the compliance head of licensed French trading platform Coinhouse, who stated that while Binance has seen some withdrawals recently, it is far from experiencing a large-scale user exodus. On-chain data shows Binance had a net outflow of approximately $1.6 billion over the past month, while the platform still manages around $114 billion in crypto assets.
