Poll: Two thirds of British people believe that Brexit will have a negative impact
According to a report by Golden Finance, on June 22nd, a poll released by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) showed that up to two-thirds of the British public believed that the decision to leave the EU in 2016 had a negative impact on the UK. They believe that Brexit has raised the cost of living, failed to achieve a better life, and instead weakened the UK's ability to address the issues that voters are most concerned about. Among the respondents, 56% believe that Brexit is not conducive to solving the problem of illegal immigration and is also detrimental to trade; 57% believe that Brexit has reduced opportunities for young people; 57% believe that 'Brexit' was a mistake. ECFR points out that three-quarters of Britons hope to establish closer ties with the EU; The British choose Europe over the United States as their preferred security partner, with only 18% seeing the United States as an ally.
