[Wuxi Launches 'Token Supermarket' to Make AI Simpler and More Cost-Effective for Enterprises] Currently, the usage of tokens is experiencing explosive growth. According to data from the National Data Bureau, the average daily token usage in China has surged from 100 billion at the beginning of 2024 to 140 trillion by March 2026. Recently, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, launched a city-level 'Token Supermarket,' transforming AI services from 'selling computing power' to 'selling capabilities,' making AI adoption simpler and more cost-effective for enterprises. In the past, enterprises looking to use AI typically had to build their own data centers, purchase high-end GPUs, and hire algorithm engineers. Combined with hosting, electricity, and maintenance costs, annual expenses could exceed millions. The 'Token Supermarket,' however, operates like a utility meter, charging based on usage. It provides one-stop access to multiple large models, connecting enterprises, universities, and research institutions, and integrating computing power, models, and application ecosystems. For small and micro enterprises, the changes are particularly noticeable. A local smart security company, after adopting the 'Token Supermarket,' saw a significant boost in R&D efficiency and a sharp reduction in costs. Behind this is the platform's integration with over 30 mainstream model providers, with backend systems automatically scheduling optimal solutions. Since its trial operation began in late May, the platform has already served nearly 50 clients. Its future goal is to establish a strong presence in Wuxi and expand its influence across the Yangtze River Delta region. (CCTV News)
