[US Media: Trump Tightens Terms of Iran Agreement, Revised Proposals Submitted to Iran] According to a report by Golden Finance on May 31, citing The New York Times, three officials revealed that U.S. President Trump has tightened the terms of a potential framework agreement aimed at ending the war with Iran and sent these revised proposals back to Iran for consideration. It remains unclear what specific changes Trump made to the agreement text. Two officials stated that Trump is concerned about the part of the potential agreement involving the unfreezing of Iranian funds. He has consistently been highly critical of former President Obama's approach in a similar agreement signed over a decade ago to curb Iran's nuclear program. One official mentioned that Trump is also frustrated with Iran's delayed response to the U.S. proposals. These proposals were formed through repeated negotiations involving intermediaries, including Pakistan. The official added that the revisions proposed by Trump—a stricter new proposal—might be an attempt to accelerate the process by pressuring Iran to accept the framework agreement, which has already been submitted for approval to Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba.
