[Hormuz Strait Passage Still Blocked, Two Qatari LNG Ships Turn Back] BlockBeats reports that on April 6, two liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers from Qatar appear to have abandoned attempts to exit the Persian Gulf via the Hormuz Strait. According to vessel tracking data, the 'Al Daayen' and 'Rasheeda' loaded LNG at Qatar's export facilities at the end of February and initially headed east toward waters near Oman in an attempt to enter the strait, but later turned back. Since the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran at the end of February, no LNG-loaded tankers have passed through the Hormuz Strait. According to vessel data from Kpler, Qatar has delivered two batches of LNG to Kuwait in recent weeks. These supplies were likely loaded from Qatar's storage tanks, thus avoiding the need to transit the Hormuz Strait. Due to the possibility of electronic interference or deliberate transponder shutdowns for vessels navigating high-risk areas, there is uncertainty in vessel tracking around the Persian Gulf. (Jin10)
