RippleX engineering head J. Ayo Akinyele has called on Elon Musk to add Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin to X Money. Moreover, he claims that XRP could follow if Musk pays attention to the request.
Akinyele, who is involved with RippleX, first thanked Musk for a $25 transfer to his X Money account and then asked: "When should we expect RLUSD support?"
He later responded to another user calling for XRP support, saying that "if we get Elon’s attention, XRP will be in as well. No doubt."

A new financial service
The comments come as X Money is now turning into an actual financial service.
X has already launched X Money in the United States to great fanfare. However, it will initially be available on an invite-only basis for paid subscribers.
The service makes it possible for users to hold funds and make real-time peer-to-peer transfers.

X has also introduced an X-branded Visa debit card. The service is being provided with banking infrastructure from Cross River Bank.
X Money is intended to turn X into a broader financial platform where users can store money, send payments, and so on.
Musk has long promoted X as an "everything app." However, the current version of X Money is focused on traditional payments. Musk has ignored even his beloved Dogecoin (DOGE) during the rollout of X Money.
How plausible is it?
Ripple has positioned RLUSD as infrastructure for payments. In June, the company stressed RLUSD and XRP as assets that can be used for X402-powered payments.
Ripple has also expanded RLUSD's institutional payment use cases through partnerships involving Mastercard, WebBank and Gemini.
Therefore, Akinyele's public pitch to Musk is not surprising: if X Money eventually supports cryptocurrencies or stablecoins, RLUSD could become one of the dollar-denominated assets available within the platform.
However, at this stage, this does not seem to be plausible.
