PANews May 4 news, Doubao App Store page has appeared a paid version service statement, planning to launch a paid version with value-added services based on the free service. The statement shows that the subscription is divided into three tiers: Standard version at 68 yuan per month (annual subscription 688 yuan), Enhanced version at 200 yuan per month (annual subscription 2048 yuan), Professional version at 500 yuan per month (annual subscription 5088 yuan).

The Doubao official responded that the free services will continue to be provided, and the paid features are mainly aimed at complex tasks and high productivity scenarios, such as PPT generation, data analysis, and film production. Sources close to Doubao revealed that as the model capabilities upgrade, complex high-value tasks require more computing power and inference time, thus the launch of paid services to meet the demand.

As a core large model under ByteDance, Doubao previously operated for a long time on a free model. Volcano Engine data shows that as of March this year, the daily Token usage of Doubao's large model has surpassed 120 trillion, doubling in the past three months. The launch of this paid model may signify the end of the "free era" for large models.
