PANews May 2 news, according to the Associated Press, the U.S. Department of Defense has reached agreements with Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Nvidia, OpenAI, Reflection, and SpaceX to deploy artificial intelligence capabilities provided by these companies within its classified networks, aimed at assisting in battlefield situation analysis, target identification, and logistical maintenance decisions. The Pentagon stated that the relevant tools have been made available to military personnel, civilians, and contractors through the official platform GenAI.mil, which can reduce the time required for certain tasks from months to days. Anthropic, which previously had legal disputes with the government over restrictions on military use of its technology in scenarios involving autonomous weapons and surveillance of U.S. citizens, has not been included in this cooperation list. Some terms of the agreements require human supervision when AI is performing tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously and must comply with constitutional rights and civil liberties constraints.
