1. No one is playing in the cryptocurrency circle anymore

I am still in this ecosystem. Not only do I observe this ecosystem every day, but I am also dollar-cost averaging into Ethereum.

Although the overall atmosphere of this ecosystem is not as crazy and exciting as the previous bull market, in my eyes, it is improving every day and accumulating; it is only a matter of time before it erupts again.

In addition to this, there are more teams who are persevering in building and fighting with their blood, sweat, and tears.

I never listen to the noise to determine if an ecosystem has a future; I only pay attention to those teams that are genuinely fighting and contributing in the long term.

2. Is there still hope for altcoins?

I am not quite sure which altcoins are specifically referred to here.

But speaking for myself, aside from the major players Bitcoin and Ethereum which I never move, I have held onto a very small portion of some Layer 2 scaling altcoins, most of which have been exchanged for Ethereum; I fully liquidated all positions related to the AI sector into Virtual; I had long cleared out all DeFi positions for Ethereum; and I have kept some coins from very small sectors.

If I must say which of these coins might still have hope for the future, I am relatively optimistic about AI and DeFi.

The AI sector has a high risk but also high hope; if it really takes off, it would be incredible. This is a sector I really like.

The DeFi sector is more stable, although it has encountered some problems now, I believe that some of the leading projects within it can still survive and will be much better in the future than they are now. However, I will not (at least not for now) engage in this sector mainly because my personal interest does not lie here.

3. Are you still paying attention to AR in the storage sector?

This project is one I really like, and I have previously dollar-cost averaged into it.

This project is different from Filecoin; it addresses the problem of permanent storage. According to the official theoretical derivation (if it has not changed to this day), the data stored on it can theoretically last for 200 years.

This kind of permanent storage solution realized through decentralized technology does not exist in traditional centralized technologies. From this perspective, the idea of this project is very novel and remarkable.

However, returning to the business logic, after years of practical verification and observation, just as I wrote in my previous article "The Dilemma of Decentralized Storage," I feel that we need to reflect and reassess the true demand for this project.

In today's context, if we reexamine it from the perspectives of enterprise users (to B) and individual users (to C), I think there may be some uncertainties.

First, let's look at enterprise users.

Assuming an enterprise user really needs to permanently/long-term store extremely important data of the entire company, they have to either choose to store it themselves or place it with a third party.

If they choose a third party, in their view, which is more reliable: AR or Amazon Cloud or Google Cloud?

This point I am not very sure about, or even if I think AR is more reliable, I am not sure how large this market can be.

Now, let's look at individual users.

I thought about my own needs, do I have data that I want to save permanently?

I do.

But how do I save it? Should I put it on my carefully preserved hard drive, in Google cloud space, or on AR?

It’s likely that even if I choose to store it on AR, I would still have some anxiety, worried about whether this project would still be stable in the future if there is no team maintaining it.

So, thinking this way, the market created by this project's permanent storage may not be as large as imagined in the current environment.

Even if such demand exists, I fear that it may not be enough to support the positive feedback and positive development of this project.

I remember it was either last year or even earlier, this project launched a new plan—using the current permanent storage solution as a foundation to develop an AI ecosystem.

I am very optimistic about this idea because I believe this combination can find applicable scenarios in AI, for example, using AR as a permanent memory platform for data accumulation to form its own permanent memory—doesn’t that lack in many current AI applications?

But in the past year or two, I have not seen any updates on its progress.

So I still hold on to AR and occasionally check to see if there are new developments and advancements.
