Branch stated that the suspect will be charged in federal court on the morning of the 27th. Branch described the gunman at the White House Correspondents' Dinner as having "the intent to attack government officials, likely including the president himself." Branch added that investigators have been able to collect some information from the suspect's electronic devices and have interviewed some people who know him, gaining a preliminary understanding of his motive.
